Wow, that was a lot of work!! I spent the entirety of the Memorial Day weekend animating and coloring. No barbecues or picnics with family/friends. Just work. Work work work work work!!
I was THIS CLOSE to giving up on the 11 Second Club challenge this month. Couldn’t get my concept to flow smoothly within the audio. After thirteen days of struggling, it was high time to doodie or get off the pot!
This concept hit me late in the month and I think it’s quite unconventional. Potentially offensive. But I was raised in the Catholic Church so I feel perfectly justified in passing my general disappointments, misery and offensiveness on to you. 🙂
I wasn’t going to enter this month. Too much other shit to do. But look, I love animating and drawing and creating stories. And I love pursuing my passion. Time is finite, friends. The opportunity is right now! Get out of your own way and chase that dream!!
Indeed, there were some pretty great animations submitted to the 11 Second Club in September. My own animation, “Pu and the 5 Dwarfs”, a play on Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, swung and missed, finishing in 33rd place. The reasons why are fairly obvious.
Fairy tales are one of my favorite things, whether Disney bastardizes them or not. True, the Grimm Brothers gave us the source material but in our modern days, Disney has made them memorable and romantic.
