More incredible photos from my backyard. Toot Toot!
To those people who say I live like a hermit crab, I say, “Could I get these shots if I was hiding under a blanket all day??” Actually, I could probably get better pictures if I was hiding under a blanket because more birds would appear! Hmm..
January was awfully cold this year in California. Our lows were dipping into the high 20’s F. It would have been sweet of me to move my garden indoors, but… well, you know me too well. 😉
The strawberry plants have been incredible and so far, a success. I started with one plant and let it have children (all by itself) and those plants have grown up to be just as wonderful and sweet as the person who bought the original plant. 😉
Oh, with the changing of seasons,
of what I look forward to
and what has passed into memory,
all moving rather quickly,
as if swept by, by an enormous invisible broom.
A few days of rain and foul weather throughout April bogged down my plants and seeds, but overall, the majority of items have come along nicely.. finally!
Spring is here and this year I promised to try growing a few different things in my garden. Basil and oregano are staples, but I’ve added strawberries, garlic and lemon balm (whatever that is). 🙂
