If you know my competitive spirit, you know I just HAD to create a better ragdoll race than the last one I posted. Maybe this one’s a little over the top? Share

Instead of writing a comprehensive year-end review of my personal accomplishments and failures, I decided to goof off and play with the Game Logic Engine in Blender instead. You don’t want to hear about my life anyway! Share

Speaking of unfinished projects, here’s one I started back in the early 1990′s. Hand drawn on blank index cards, the animated adventures of the Keene family came to life. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Share

What I love about a tutorial is very often, I get to learn a great trick or idea that I can apply to my own designs or animations, and not just copy what someone else is making. Share

I have been asked why I don’t produce more animations like my short hit “Bobi and the Lollipop”. I’ll tell you why.. Share

Some of my earliest and most beloved memories of my childhood are of me resigning to my room to entertain myself, because I had the ability and focus to do so. From drawing pictures or writing stories, that creative alone-time was invaluable, and I didn’t realize it at the time. Share

Desperate to publish a post on something that isn’t about Christmas, rabbits or my new haircut, I sat down to think of all the other projects I’m working on so I could report here and get you excited! Well, get prepared to be disappointed, everyone. Share

Many moons ago, I attempted to animate a cartoon, by hand, frame by frame, using Flash. That may sound like a lot of fun, but you can understand now why there isn’t a finished project. Truth told, for my money, it simply wasn’t going to be good enough. Share

Just for shits and giggles, and in terms of using Blender 3D to expand my portfolio, I started to learn how to model human heads. Of course, I’ve done a couple cartoon characters, but never anything that looked like something. Share

Moving full steam ahead on my next animated 3d short, to be part of the LetsMakeMovies2010 film project (yeah.. I think we’re still doing that!), I finally settled on a film idea that is going to challenge me like none other to this point. Share

David Allen Ward posted another Blender 3D tutorial focusing on creating a grassy hillside using UV mapping and a barky, leafy tree using python scripts. I’m sure he put allot of work and thought into this. Share

There are probably about five people on the planet, including myself, who have been waiting a very long time to see my completed film, “von bloch”. I have good news and bad news. Share

I never thought this would be easy. Or fun. But I definitely wanted to complete an animated sequence longer than 20 seconds. “Bobi and the Lollipop” is a wee bit over 2 minutes. Rendering frames is taking, currently, about 30 seconds each! Share
