My Garden Part 2

End of April update

A few days of rain and foul weather throughout April bogged down my plants and seeds, but overall, the majority of items have come along nicely.. finally!

The lemon balm, among others, is new to my garden. It’s said to attract both butterflies and bees. The germination period has been about 20 days from seed and hopefully has been worth the wait.

I don’t know if that’s going to be a blackberry, or a flower. I know very little about blackberry plants, except that I have one and it’s doing something.

Chief Brody loves to be outside. A rare treat for him on a sunny weekend.

My last catnip plant was attacked and destroyed by neighborhood cats. I’ve been incredibly lucky with this new plant so far, and it has provided pleasure to my cats on a regular basis.

The garlic cloves I planted have amazed me. I’m not convinced these are in the best spot, or even if these are healthy, but time will tell.

I love mint. My two new plants are Peppermint and Chocolate Mint. These are both great in teas and cookies.

The oregano is a transplant, and is as delicious as it is beautiful.

What I didn’t know about a strawberry plant is that the flowers themselves turn into the fruit. I’ll be expecting a nice crop from this great little plant.

Thanks, Mark. I’ve been a little nervous about these strawberries and how best to help them along, but so far so good. Water, sunshine and love is about all they need. I’m sure you’ll have a great garden soon enough! :)
