Walk Cycle Numero Uno

blender 2.54 and me!
by Danny Kneip

I have done a 2+ minute animation using Blender and modeled at least 20 different characters so far, but I have never completed a real walk cycle. Until now. And obviously, we got issues! :D

There’s plenty of character in this gait, but still much to be desired. The way a person carries himself, as well as personal dress and style, is so important in a social setting. I normally don’t worry myself too much with those things because tripping and falling down are going to happen regardless. But I try to smell nice. :)

Now this elf clearly has some style, accidentally applied as the ultimate goal was to simply create steps, and not a personal attitude. And since this guy was created in an older version of Blender, along with the smile (shape key), and since I do not know how to wipe that smile off his face in Blender 2.54, it is what it is.

Merry Christmas!
