Constantly, I’m thinking of my next film or animation. I love special effects, cagey characters, offbeat storylines and sarcastic dialogue. And while the professionals reinvent the wheel and set the bar to the next level.
Especially in terms of producing a specific vision, it is a great time to be even a novice with enough tools at hand so I can at least fake what their doing!
The following is an 18 second sequence marrying an animation created in Blender 3D with special effects from Video Copilot’s Andrew Kramer (or Andrew Kramer’s Video Copilot) for Adobe After Effects. I have always wanted to experiment with these two formats.
I do understand the importance of color correcting the effects to match the scene (and perfecting them in general) before exporting the final product, but that was not the goal here.
The short animation merely serves as an opportunity to play with special effects using something other than live footage and green screens.
And yes, Bobi is a very important guy and his nemesis, Vovi, is a real jerk for doing what he does, but remember, it’s not real. It’s just a movie.
Cheers
