Moving full steam ahead on my next animated 3d short, to be part of the LetsMakeMovies2010 film project (yeah.. I think we’re still doing that!), I finally settled on a film idea that is going to challenge me like none other to this point.
Though “von Bloch” is still incomplete and has proven especially challenging in terms of final project, the majority of that film was shot with live actors and can easily be cut together. There are a number of 3d animated sequences holding up the final cut. I can’t do those AND this LetsMakeMovies project at the same time. But I am making slow progress on “von Bloch” and still hope to have it complete by Christmas 2011.
In the meantime, there is this (using Blender 3d)..
This mesh is one of three I need to create for my main characters. They will all be fully rigged, having plenty of expressions and a functioning mouth for delivering dialogue.
I was thinking, at first, I wanted these characters to look and feel more “cartoony”, but the more I modeled and toyed with this mesh, the better it looked and now I am torn on how best to proceed. I don’t have an illustration of the “cartoony” character I would consider instead of the one featured above. But I do see, in this mesh, the opportunity to change it up a little to truly become the character I always imagined.
And then I have to repeat the process for the next two characters.
And then I have to model crows. Lots of them.
In terms of the script, I am developing and writing it. I hope to start recording voices very soon.
Cheers,
